Oracle Commerce Cloud E-commerce SaaS

Oracle announced the release of the Oracle Commerce Cloud, the e-commerce component of the Oracle Customer Experience (CX) suite of cloud-based customer experience solutions. The Oracle Commerce Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) infrastructure is built to enable rapid deployment of fully customizable, secure, and scalable web storefronts.

“Commerce Cloud is a new, differentiating piece of the broader Oracle CX cloud applications portfolio and helps ensure online businesses no longer have to worry about deploying code, upgrading, and managing day-to-day infrastructure,” said Ken Volpe, senior vice president, product development, Oracle.

Oracle Commerce Cloud is integrated with the rest of the Oracle CX suite, which also includes cloud-based marketing, sales, customer service, social and pricing solutions. Oracle Commerce Cloud features a number of pre-integrated capabilities including search, promotions, reporting, pre-built design templates and more.

Oracle Commerce Cloud features a unified management console that gives business users complete control of site design with intuitive, drag-and-drop functionality. The included design templates and widgets help companies get started quickly, and scheduling tools allow marketers to preview content and design changes before publishing. Responsive templates enable storefronts to be viewed on all devices, with a consistent look and feel.

Developer access to Oracle Commerce Cloud functionality is provided via REST Web Services. Front-end coding using HTML, CSS and JavaScript are all that is necessary for developers to get started on Oracle Commerce Cloud sites. An API-centric architecture allows developers to extend the platform’s capabilities through integration with a company’s existing back-office technologies or other Oracle CX applications.

Oracle Commerce Cloud is built on the Oracle Public Cloud, where Oracle offers a 99.9 percent uptime guarantee, elastic scaling, Level 1 PCI Compliance and 24/7 support. Oracle offers both a usage and revenue-share pricing models, with details available upon request.
