Citrix Virtualization Certifications
With a long history of remote access servers and services, Citrix is arguably the virtualization technology provider of longest standing in the marketplace.
Citrix virtualization solutions have definitely ramped up in the preceding four or five years, as the entire virtualization marketplace has also matured. At one time, all of the Citrix virtualization certifications fell within the Apps and Desktops category of Citrix certs. However, the Citrix certification tier has been revamped to reflect the Citrix solution areas that focus on Mobility and Cloud, Networking, and Virtualization. As a result, you’ll see that the Citrix Apps and Desktops certs have been rebranded to Virtualization certs. As with the old Apps and Desktop certs, the new Citrix virtualization certs continue to focus on skills necessary to maintain (design, deploy, manage) XenDesktop 7.
Citrix offers three virtualization credentials, including the Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V), Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V) and Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCE-V). Credentials are valid for three years and candidates are required to pass the current exam to recertify.
Citrix technology is incredibly popular in many data center operations. Where Citrix virtualization technologies are used, Citrix certifications will be valuable to the IT professionals who work in them. Such expertise remains in high and steady demand. Table 3 lists the requirements to obtain the CCP-V credential.
